The 10th Handicraft Trade Fair has established handicraft product as a quality product with value addition, said its organisers.
“The exhibition has succeeded in pulling a huge crowd as well,” said vice president of Federation of Handicraft Association of Nepal (FHAN) and fair coordinator Hari Bahadur Karki.
“Local people are slowly understanding value of Nepali handmade products,” said FHAN president Bikash Ratna Dhakwa, during the closing ceremony of 10th Handicraft Fair.
“The increasing participation of buyers from national and international market has also encouraged the association to move ahead with much more quality innovations in the next trade fairs,” he added.
FHAN has also decided to organise Handicraft Trade Fair and Craft Competition on November 22 as a regular calender event every year.
Many high ranking government officials and ambassadors from US, India, Australia and Germany also visited the fair, the organisers informed. “Most of the stalls at the exhibition did a good business with total sales of around Rs 100,000.”
The participants were also satisfied as they have been able to have direct interaction with buyers and get good orders.
