Jan 25, 2015-The Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation is all set to hold the “Subisu CAN InfoTech 2015” in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, from January 28 to February 2.

The mega event will feature 219 stalls. The “Subisu CAN ICT Conference 2015” will also be held on February 1-2 in Hotel Everest, Kathmandu.

At a press meet here on Saturday, CAN general secretary Amrit Kumar Pant said the expo will feature 49 stalls inside the exhibition hall, three branding rooms outside, 144 stalls under truss, 14 in the open space, and nine food stalls.

The expo will feature ICT hardware sales and maintenance, power solutions, mobile accessories, dealers and distributors, internet service providers, telecommunications, ICT colleges and training institutes, software solutions and payment solution, among others. “Several sponsors, title sponsors, distributors and dealers will be coming up with schemes and discount offers too,” Pant said.

According to the CAN Federation, Subisu Cable net will announce attractive schemes, while Samsung mobiles will conduct lucky draws and exchange offers, among other promotional schemes.

Entrance fee has been fixed Rs 150 for general visitors, and Rs 75 for students. The ticket price on the business day—February 1—will be Rs 150 for all.

Pant said people can also buy tickets at www.can.org.np, or www.caninfotech.org.np and get a discount of 20 percent.

The 15the ICT Conference with under the theme of “Information Technology for Development (ICT4D) and Social Transformation” attempts to retrospect the role of Information and Communication Technologies in social, economic and political development in the Nepalese perspective, according to the organiser.

Professor Suvash Bhattacharya of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad, will deliver a keynote. The event will see discussions on “Emerging Technology for ICT4D/Public Delivery and Government Transformation” on day one, and on “Knowledge based Industry and Employment and Professional Skill Development for ICT4D” on day two.
